DISCOVERY
Interviews with Stakeholders were conducted to identify pain points with the existing website CMS along with goals and user needs for the redesign. The client held focus groups with their readers and shared the data collected.

I also performed a task analysis on the old website's backend and frontend usability. By immersing myself in the perspectives of both the site maintainers and the readers, I gained insights crucial for enhancing the user experience through improved product design and interface.
Pain Points
-
The current online system for the Okie Snaps Photo Contest is cumbersome, requiring manual downloads of submissions, followed by uploading the final photo entries into the voting portal, and then yet another upload to announce the winners.
-
The Events Calendar is a basic text listing that is not very interactive or visually appealing - even though focus groups revealed it is the most loved section by their readers.

-
Currently, there is no established format to facilitate digital advertisements beyond manually adding graphics into the text content for each individual page.
Goals
-
Develop an integrated web application that consolidates all stages of the photo contest, simplifying the process and minimizing required effort. Implement real-time vote count functionality for an enhanced voting experience.

-
Create an advanced Events web application that supports an extensive range of information and organization. Implement filtering options, allowing site visitors to effortlessly locate events based on criteria such as region, cooperative, category, and date.

-
Construct a tailored product solution capable of both ad uploads and predefined template utilization. Establish a connection between specific categories and their designated display locations on posts and pages, facilitating ease of selection.

"One month in and still extremely pleased with the ease of updating our web content, it’s leaps and bounds of an improvement from where we were! This was the first full run of an Okie Snaps contest from beginning to end and it was nice to just be able to populate everything with a couple of clicks! Thanks again to your team for their work in helping us bring our vision to life."
